Bobby Cawthron, DVM, CVAT, CPEV
Chief of Staff Advisor
Dr. Bobby Cawthron, Chief of Staff at Aspen Grove Veterinary Care in Fort Collins, Colorado is a dedicated and passionate veterinarian with a rich background in animal care. A Texas native, Dr. Bobby grew up in a small town in West Texas, and developed his love for animal care while working on his grandfather’s ranches in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and in Nolan County, Texas. His active involvement in his high school FFA, where he showed lambs, broiler chickens, and commercial steers, laid the foundation for his future career. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo played a pivotal role in providing scholarships that enabled Dr. Bobby to attend college and pursue his dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Dr. Bobby graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M University in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, tracking both large and small animal medicine. While he tracked both large and small animals in vet school, the advanced capabilities, such as ultrasonography and dental care, in small animal medicine refocused his attention to be a small animal practitioner.
Beginning his career in 1997, Dr. Bobby worked as an Associate Veterinarian at Dripping Springs Animal Hospital in Dripping Springs, Texas, for six years. In 2006, he moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, drawn by the mountains and the opportunity to purchase Aspen Grove Veterinary Care.
Dr. Bobby developed an interest in veterinary acupuncture when they hired an associate doctor with a CVAT. Dr. Bobby observed first-hand the benefits of acupuncture leading to his certification in veterinary acupuncture in 2020 through The Canine Rehabilitation Institute.
In addition to practicing superior medicine, the overarching goal for Aspen Grove was to create a practice that supported the local Fort Collins community and built long-lasting relationships with clients and patients. Dr. Bobby emphasized attracting the best and brightest team members by fostering a culture of communication, compassion, integrity, and accountability.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Bobby enjoys the outdoors and football, with a love for hiking, skiing, live music, and Jeep 4-wheel driving throughout Colorado. He cherishes time spent with his wife and best friend, Jaime, their daughter, Alyssa.
